Our main fund raiser for the year is a raffle quilt made by members of the guild. Tickets are sold throughout the year at different quilt shows as well as through our membership. The drawing is at our annual quilt show held in the first weekend in May. The majority of the proceeds are donated to David’s House and the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, Massachusetts. The remainder is used for the operation of our guild. The 2009 raffle quilt is from a pattern designed by Beth Ferrier. It was pieced and hand appliqued by Nancy Bell, Carol Jehu, Joanne McClure, and Anna-Maria Poole. It was machine quilted by Carol Smith of Brookline, NH. The quilt was entered in the 2008 Vermont Quilt Festival and won a third place ribbon in the bed category. It will also appear in a spring issue of the Quilter's Newsletter Magazine. The drawing for it will be held on Saturday, May 2nd, at our annual quilt show. You need not be present to win. |
